Pyrolyse\u00f6fen sollen das Holz nur verkohlen, statt zu verbrennen.<\/p><p>Nachdem Rainer Sagawe die<br \/>Transition-Town-Initiative Hameln fu\u0308r Terra Preta begeistert hatte, machte er sich mit Freu(n)den ans Ofenbauen. Ihre ersten Modelle bestanden aus Wei\u00dfblechdosen \u2013 zu Mittag<br \/>gab es eine Zeitlang Pottkieker-Eintopf und Ananas-Kompott.<\/p><p>Erstaunt, wie gut das Dosenmodell funktionierte, gingen sie damit zu einem Feuerku\u0308nstler und Metalldesigner. In die mittlere kommt das Brenngut \u2013 Holzpellets oder Holzh\u00e4cksel \u2013, die \u00e4u\u00dfere dient der Luftzufuhr. Angeheizt wird von oben. Es entsteht ein Glutnest, das sich langsam bis zum Boden des Ofens frisst. Die Flamme wandert in den oberen Bereich des Ofens, wo sich das Rauchgas mit Sauerstoff mischt. In Workshops von Transition Town Hameln wurde der Ofen weiterentwickelt.<\/p><p>Ein Problem war, dass der Wind die Flamme leicht ausblasen konnte. Rainer Sagawe lie\u00df das keine Ruhe, und er forschte im Internet, bis er den Hinweis auf einen Flammenkonzentrator fand und selbst damit experimentierte. Bevor die Flamme in den oberen Bereich eintritt, passiert sie nun ein blu\u0308tenartiges Stahlgebilde, das fu\u0308r eine st\u00e4rkere Konvektion des Gasgemischs fu\u0308hrt.<\/p><p>Inzwischen hat der Ofen eine Kochplatte bekommen. Bestu\u0308ckt mit 7,5 Kilogramm Holzpellets, brennt er u\u0308ber 4 Stunden lang und erzeugt dabei 5 Liter Holzkohle. Eine Biob\u00e4uerin aus Hameln u\u0308berlegt, abends im Treibhaus einen solchen Ofen anzuheizen und einen w\u00e4rmespeichernden Topf mit Bienenwachs daraufzustellen \u2013 die ideale Verbindung aus Bodenverbesserung und Treibhausheizung.<\/p><p>Demn\u00e4chst wird in Hameln in gro\u00dfem Stil mit der Herstellung von Pflanzenkohle, auch aus Gru\u0308nschnitt, experimentiert.
